capmaster Posted August 4, 2013 Share Posted August 4, 2013 It looks odd, but I have seen this fairly often. All the FZ "Roxy" SGs do look this way, including the two I own. I think they sometimes cut these out and transfer it to another headstock veneer at Gibson. By the way, the veneer pieces around the logo of the FZ SGs are black although the rest is white. The looks and proportions seem to be correct. Sadly the serial number isn't completely legible, but its and the "Made in USA" imprints look normal. If I was interested in this guitar, I would ask for the entire serial number and contact the Gibson service before the buy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The headstock script logo has been affected by to expansion and contraction which causes the joints around the inlay to show. This can be seen on plenty of other examples.
