Crop circles

I don't know what they are trying to say either? And I didn't have the patience to watch the entire 50 minutes of video. But what always amazes me is how intricate some of the patterns are, and the fact they seem to be created at night when It would be dark in the fields. Would be fairly aggravated however if it was my wheat crop that was being trampled down [cursing]

You should check out Linda Moulton Howe's investgations on crop formations. She's an investigative reporter so she covers topics with great thoroughness. Her website is Earthfiles.com.

Hello!

I remember the first time when they appeared in Hungary. It was in early 90s. It was all-day, all-night on TV. Scientists, and all kinds of specialists of paranormal activities went there. They came to the consclusion that it can't be man-made, because it's "so complex", the "straws aren't broken, just laid down in one direction", "some sort of a radiation can be measured in the center of circle", and so on.

Then, after a couple of days, - when everyone made an @ss out his mouth -, two kids admitted that they did it. [biggrin]

They were adjudicated and sentenced to pay a serious fine for damaging private property.

Cheers... Bence

There is a propensity for crop circles to appear in the south west of England around Stonehenge and Glastonbury

Apart from the damage done to precious arable crops, they can have a strange and resonant beauty about them

Their geometric precision often has an other worldly look about it

Yeah like two kids did this in a couple hours at night, in the dark in perfect symmetry, sure...

That one definitely takes more time. :D

Seriously. There are many pictures like this all over the net. Are You sure, they are not the product of someone being good at Photoshop?

Crop circles first appeared in the south of England, there was a huge media frenzy, until 2 guys can forward 10 years later and admitted they had done the lot. They started appearing all over the world after that. The 2 guys were on QI a while back and said categorically that 99% of them are hoaxes done by people they know. Seems likely the other 1% are done by people they don't know. They talked about watching people talking about radiation and cell structure changes and mystical types talking about energies and beings at crop circle sites they had faked.. Interestingly there is very little damage done, the crops stand back up after only a few days. They talked about the hugely intricate ones and how only basic geometry makes it easy. I am entirely satisfied that they are all hoaxes.

I guess you haven't seen the video I posted the link to. Have a look when you have time. When the crop circles appear they are documented, photographed, measured and their locations are posted so any one can go and see them in person, walk around in them and do thier own investigation. No Photoshop, who or what makes them.... Who knows?

That's true, Dave! I haven't got the time to watch that video yet...although I've seen so many videos with scientifical explanations of strange phenomenon (UFOs, ghosts, etc.), only coming to conclusion that You can tell anything to someone without much knowledge about the scientifical tools or methods. Thus, I have no arguments to deny their statements, but I am getting more and more skeptical.

This is from Wiki: "The weather theory suffered a serious blow in 1991, but Hawking's point about hoaxes was supported when Bower and Chorley stated that they had been responsible for making all those circles. By the end of 1991 Meaden conceded that those circles that had complex designs were made by hoaxers."

Yes I second this. In some cases the farmer was in on it too as then he could charge admission to the gullible who would invariably turn up with cameras, dowsing rods, paranormal activity detectors, foil hats, etc. After their cover was blown the whole thing died down almost completely. Sure you can watch utube videos of alien lights supposedly making 'em but it is what it appears to be. All of England's crop circles, every single one, were made by people. I can't say about anywhere else. It is another of those things folks want to believe in.

Those who seek signs will invariably find them.

Lots of people enjoy a glass(or several) of cider in these areas

What better way to have a huge laugh, exchange theories, play a game of darts, jolly along the gullible etc etc... [biggrin]

Reg Presley(nee Balls) from The Troggs was a crop circle enthusiast... [thumbup]

Yes - Dousing is always a good way to do stuff. But you can't douse with crop circles, so they have these metal rod things. Kind of like a Ouija board except they're made of metal, and every kid knows that pros use stuff made out of metal.
