saturn
The local Classic Rock station gives away tickets to upcoming shows on the hour every "Winsday" B) Well today they were giving away tickets to the Peach Festival and I was caller number 7 at 3:40pm. B) It's a 4 day festival, but I have tickets for Saturday's show. The only problem is that I didn't bother listening to where it's held. Scranton PA! I live outside Baltimore so it's like 4 hours away. Gonna take one of my buddies (my wife isn't in to these type shows) and hopefully we can find a hotel not too expensive. The Allman Brothers Band is about the only big band that I have never seen live (that I am interested in seeing). Government Mule is like icing on the cake. Should be a great time. saturn
This was probably the weirdest concert I've ever attended. But then, I have never been to one of these 4 day events where people are camping and stuff. Lot's of Dead Head types. And whats the deal with hoola hoops? They seemed to be everywhere. Plus, when it got dark all these glow sticks were flying through the air and people were making them into all kinds of cool shapes. Musically, it was incredible. All the bands, especially Bob Weir and Rad Dog and Allman Brothers were crystal clear. The ABB seemed more like the Warren Haynes/Derek Trucks show. Greg didn't sing too much and they played very few hits. Mostly they were more obscure songs with long guitar jams. Not complaining. Warren Haynes is one of my favorites, and Derek Trucks is just on another level altogether. I was really impressed with Bob Weir. I wasn't familiar with any of his songs, but a lot of the crowd was. I really enjoyed him though. There was one song in particular, I have to find out about. He would alternate between singing a verse, and then then playing a cool little guitar riff. It was very long and I remember the lyrics were really interesting, but now I can't remember them. Took a few pics with a point-and-shoot, so nothing too good. Cool sunset A local bluegrass style band called Cabinet. Rat Dog The Allman Brothers logo
