Pick Up Fuzz '57 Classic

Please can anyone help as this is driving me to distraction.

 

My wife bought me a Gibson LP Classic. Whenever I play anything the is an annoying fuzz sound as the strings ring out. It makes it impossible to get a clean sound.

 

Does anyone have any ideas?

u may have to get a set up done by a luthier. i had the same problem cost me about $75. congrats and welcome to the forums. post pics

Have you tried lowering the pickups?
