j45nick
This is a sweet one from around the "Nashville Skyline" period, when Dylan was actually paying real attention to his singing. Nice simple arrangement of a traditional tune. My link

E-minor7
Hey man, , , what a treat. What a fine fine tune and what a sound on that recording (I'm in the cans). But first of all what a vox. Yes, I know Nashville Skyline in my sleep and remember Dylan telling Rolling Stone he quit smoking and wrote all the stuff in F at the time. (I first read the interview in the later half of the 70's). This performance however, is not only the sweetest from the sessions, it's the most - dare I say honey-glazed - heard from the vocal-chords and mind of this man ever. "I'm no Caruso", he told the press 4 years earlier - you certainly became one, Bob. . . .

Have to admit I thought of some of your songwriting and singing when I ran across this one.
E-minor7
Have to admit I thought of some of your songwriting and singing when I ran across this one. Ahh, Nick - you're too kind. Don't think I go that far/sweet. Maybe a tiny hint now and then. But the goal here was always to keep the whole palet of moods spread over the repertoire. Among tough, vulnerable, helpless, strong, moody, high, low, also the colour sweet. My trail goes way back and it was all there from the embarrassing to cool. But always as a dancing ant on Bobs left or right boot ,-). . . . .
E-minor7
But thinking about it - on a good day I can and always could make live-vocals that would make Dylan go back over in a bow of trance - quite frankly. . .
