I've only bought a couple older guitars and found special treasures in the cases of each.

Here's the latest from an LG1. I wasn't looking for something too good or expensive, just close to my birth date.

This one is a one owner and number-wise looks to be built in '51 and sold in '52 just one month before my birth date.

Inside the case was the original hang tag and the original sales receipt. Show me some of your special treasures.

Note from Ren - otherwise I think most of my guitar cases have only contained the guitar, and perhaps warranty type info.

I have the original "hang-tags" because most of mine were new. I guess I'll pass 'em along, if I remember.

Nothing in the case, but the mystery is the Case.

I got a Gibson L50 in a non original Gibson case from Elderly's and it has the words 'PAGE" burned onto the inside of the lid:

Every time I play the guitar and look over at the open case, I think: "Page" Jimmy?

Or is it perhaps a beautiful model named "Page"

Or some old grump:

I emailed Elderly to see if they had any information, but they knew nothing about it.

Many years ago I had shipped my '64 Firebird to a prospective buyer in Ohio. I got a call saying he wasn't interested in the guitar, but how much for the note in the pocket. I had forgotten about the note from Mel Bay, from a conversation Mel and I had about open D tuning and string gauges.

I told the buyer if he bought the guitar he could keep the note........, but if he sent the guitar back the note better still be in the pocket. It was!

Found in the case of early '60's Fender from orig owner. The real gem was a huge set list for the band. All great songs,

some almost forgotten. That list got removed to be stored in a safer location, so obviously, I can't find it.
