Californiaman
What's your favorite summertime dessert? We made peach cobbler in the Dutch oven tonight. 45 minutes from now it'll be ready to serve up with some vanilla ice cream. I know what you're thinking, "This guys trying to eat healthier and lose weight,"? Well I've been good lately. Been eating farm fresh vegitables from the Santa Maria valley, fresh caught ling cod from Morro Bay. A little cobbler won't kill me. I'll work it off in the gym tomorrow anyway. So again, I ask you, what's your favorite summertime dessert?
bonzoboy
We make a dessert that's almost as easy as boiling water,it's called Hawaiian salad and just has 5 ingredients. All you need is: 1. One cup of sour cream 2. One cup of finely shredded coconut 3. One 8 oz. can of Mandarin Orange sections 4. One cup of crushed pineapple 5. One cup of coloured miniature marshmallows.Once you have all the ingredients together put them all into a bowl and stir them together until evemly mixed. You can substitute Cottage cheese for the sour cream if that's more to your taste or double or triple the recipe if you are feeding a crowd. You can set aside a few marshmallows and Mandarin Orange sections to decorate the top of the salad if you like and you can even use Maraschino cherries for additional colour. buliwyf
I bought a yogurt maker seeing as for some reason I've been eating a bunch of it lately.I always buy the Greek style at the grocery store, it's much thicker but also more expensive. The maker I bought does make very good fresh yogurt but the more whey you drain off to get thicker curds for Greek style the less you are left with to eat.It does take about 8 hours in the machine (it has it's own timer) and two hours to drain in the fridge so I start it the night before. Before I eat it I usually just flavor it with honey or fruit and it is just killer eating.Got this one from HSN not a bad price. http://www.hsn.com/products/dash-greek-yogurt-maker-pink/7154626
Californiaman
My favorite Summertime deserts? I like Death Valley… The Sahara… All right, I'll admit, I screwed that up. It's Dessert. Not Desert.
