junglejem
I have tried to search this forum for discussions of the gold top J-45, but I must be doing something wrong...it must have been discussed at some point. At any rate, any thoughts? Certainly cool looking and unusual, but what does the painted top do to the tone, if anything? Any caveats? Praise? E-minor7
Don't call any bigger discussion 'bout the Gold Top J-45, of course I can be wrong. But one member was close to buying one a year ago or so. Was it Buc, , , or retrorod. . . Not my cup of tea -the finish is too connected with the electric department (read Les Paul). zombywoof
Back in the late 1930s or so Gibson issued some J-35s in with an opaque yellow finish - more of a Tele than a Les Paul look though
