BigKahune
. That one caught my eye when I was checking into my Advanced Jumbo purchase. I had a go at it, but with the MAP at $6K it just too pricey. But here's a 2003 OJ with adi on fleaBay $2699. .

Phelonious Ponk
I have one of the 2003s. Very nice guitar. And if that guy on ebay gets his price it's about to be worth nearly twice what I paid for it. P

Actually, you don't have one of these. I played the prototype at the Homecoming, and it's very different tonally from the older "Original Jumbos". (I own one, and have played a bunch, and they are indeed very nice.) Judging from that one sample, these are much closer to the real thing. (I own one of those too.) Lumping the previous OJ reissues together makes sense, even though the specs varied quite a bit from year to year, because they sound about as much alike as, say, J-45s from that same time span do. But this one is something else. -- Bob R

Some had Adirondack tops, some sitka, some had full bursts, some solid brown back and sides. Mine has an Addy top and the deeply scalloped, forward-shifted bracing typical of AJs. This new one, as I understand it, is a very careful reproduction of a specific '34 Jumbo. I don't know if that makes it a better guitar or not, but it sure makes it a different one. And the new ones are very expensive. P
rbpicker
I played one at my local 5 Star dealer a couple weeks ago. It is really a handfull... big body and large neck, but what a tone monster it is (or, will become when it opens up). Even now it seemed like it was just itchin' to let all that sound and power out. Way over my $$ limit, however. I'll stick with my 45TV. RB
mountainpicker
I'm surprised by the 25" scale. Is that the way the original was made?
