MorrisrownSal Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 It is the one from Russo's. I didn't want that specific one to go home with anyone else. Had to move. Sold some stuff. Baddabing!
sjl200 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 WOW beautiful Sal congratulations on answering the "call" ...
E-minor7 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Looks like a dream - the tr-shield seals that impression splendidly. Now ride that Jumbo till it sings Sal -
MorrisrownSal Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 Thank you all. E-Minor I hope it inspires me. I hope it helps me make music like you do.
Smurfbird Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 You have excellent taste, Sal. Love everything about your choice. Are you releasing any of your other catches? Many happy hours strumming away!
MorrisrownSal Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 You have excellent taste, Sal. Love everything about your choice. Are you releasing any of your other catches? Many happy hours strumming away! Two Gibby's and a few remaining Martin 15 Series. I am set. Thank you sir!
MorrisrownSal Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Ummm.. Very imperfect noodling. PS I am new to fingerpicking. Anywho to me this sounds even more woody than he does: http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2007/11/25/arts/25carr2190.jpg https://soundcloud.com/sal-from-chatham/sjtv
BluesKing777 Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Congratulations - nice looking guitar though I am trying NOT to look too hard at it........................I am NOT NOT going to listen listen.... Err, how did you get your name on the TR cover so quick? BluesKing777.
MorrisrownSal Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Err, how did you get your name on the TR cover so quick? BluesKing777. Planning. Coordination. Organization. Pay attention Boy!
sangeth Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Wow Congrats Sal!!! I love THAT tone. That's IT. That's the tone!!!!!!!! Sweet guitar.... happy picking. Now you got me gassing bad for one =). Do you think the Sheryl Crow SJ sounds kind of like that?
62burst Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 THAT is a good one. Your new SJ has the Gibson tone in spades, and sounds so nice on Charles Scott Boyer's "Gypsy"(Please Be With Me). Also- the split parallelograms pay homage to a great time in Gibsons past. Wishing you much happiness with the new guitar.
E-minor7 Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Please Be With Me - absolutely dig that run-through, you totally nailed the feel. The guitar sounds 100 -▲ Then fell into Duncan - blew me away. . . ♣ Right now walkin' the streets of London, , , leads straight to the river.
Yorick Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Wonderful guitar Sal--sounds stellar. Now, you've restored the burst equilibrium to your house. With your J 50, you have a great combo of slopes--one plain, one fancy.
EuroAussie Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Well done Sal ! I know you regretted selling that J-45TV, Im very happy that you got the SJ to replace it, enjoy man ! Listening to the clips your SJ sounds very similar to my AL SJ, classic Gibson slope tone with a bit more bite than I find on J-45's ... in other words she sounds great !
blindboygrunt Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Congratulations sal. May you get as many hours of happiness as mojo gets with a set of strings
MorrisrownSal Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Thank you all. I really enjoy my Gibsons.
