jbear
Hey All, I'm curious about the details...neck profile, PUP's, int. body design. I found one that is wine red with chrome hw and cream PUP rings/poker chip/PG...also amber bell knobs. Were these factory or changed over by the first owner? I used to have one; the HW was gold and the plastic was all black...not my favorite...this one looks much nicer, so orig. or not...I'm happy. Anyway...this one will be a while in transit, so...I'm curious. Thanks in advance!

Chances are it will have a 50s neck profile and 490R and 498T pups once you get it take some pics for us of the body and headstock back and front (as straight on as you can) and we will let you know if its the real deal

The regular LP Studio model at the time came with a 50's neck profile, 490R/498T pickups, maple top, mahogany body/neck, and a rosewood fretboard. deeman
Looks like some of the hardware was updated. I think it may have had speed knobs and gold hardware.
jbear
I really do prefer the look with the bell knobs and the cream plastic. I have a Tonepros bridge lying around...I think I'll throw that on there too. I used to have one of these that was stock. It had the 490/498 combo. I'll admit that I didn't really give that guitar a chance...or those PUP's. I do have a bunch of PUP's and mags to play with, but...I'll give this some time first. deeman
I do like the cream plastic with the wine red. Looks good. I'd give the 490/498 a chance. Some people don't like them but for me they were the best gibson pickups i tested.
jbear
Great neck on this thing...fat...really comfortable, Can someone tell me what the original caps are in this guitar? This one has bright yellow RS Guitarworks caps .022. They're longer and skinny rather than barrel-shaped. Pots are orig. PUP's are braided wire and say Gibson USA but that''s all the markings. Sound orig.?
