Manfred33
Nice score. Mine came with the case as well. Really diggin' this Casino - can't put it down, actually! Thanks, you too!! Yup, mine had the case included as well.... Thank God!! If that thing hadn't come with a case, i would have really been bumming. I have a couple guitars without cases, and although I don't keep most of them in their case, I am keeping the Casino in it. I have a vintage Ibanez Fretless bass i keep in its case as well. And it is a real pain in the a$ when moving to figure out what to do with guitars w/o cases.... This Casino needs just a little TLC, not that it is in bad shape or anything, as you can see by the pics, but your's looks a lot cleaner than mine MMMan... The guy i bought if from lives on a boat and the salt air has taken just a teenie tiny bit of a toll on some of the nickel/metal parts, so have to give it a once over. Also, the strings definitely need a change and the fretboard looks like it needs some oil, so I have new strings on the way and some fretboard conditioner, which i think my other guitars probably need as well, so it's a good thing. I think the pots could use some kind of cleaning too; the volume and tone knobs are just a bit tight, they don't turn that smoothly... I don't know, i might wait on that, we'll see. I can't put mine down either, btw.... Just can't stop playing it and trying different styles of music on it..... and of course it just begs to have Revolution played on it!! I don't know, yours looks pretty nice to me, Manfred.. Sounds like it just needs a few things tweaked, and then you'll be up to par with it. Yes, mine was in pristine shape, I've got to say. I really lucked out on this one - I don't think the guy played it much at all... I can't find a scratch or dent on it.. He even told me he put new strings (10's) on it for me, and I can tell that he did. It's even set up exactly the way I like it! It's funny though - the case was actually kinda beat up, but the guitar itself was in immaculate shape. I'm thinking the previous owner must have scored a used case somewhere for his new (at the time) Casino. I used to have a Dot with a nice new Epi case, and when I traded it in to Sam Ash for something a while back, I let the case go with it. I should have kept that new Epi case, because I just KNEW I was gonna get a Casino at some point.. So I do feel lucky that this case did come with this Casino, though, or I would have had to go buy yet another Epi case for it. Hey, you're right - I need to work on "Revolution" now! Thanks MMMAn.... It is pretty hard to see any of the "little" corrosion on the guitar, which is good. There is some on the saddles on the bridge, which i think will come off pretty easily and the scows securing the pickguard are definitely corroded as well. I know the guy didn't play his much either. He bought it new with the intention of wanting to play more, but some things came up and he never did, so mine doesn't have ANY dings or scratches on it either. The fretboard is just a little dull in color in some places, so hopefully with some conditioning oil, they come back to life. I can't say that my case is in as good a shape as yours looks to be. I don't recall the E being so bright as yours and the case just looks rather faded, not that bright black. Also all the latches are a bit corroded again, but nothing major and I am not that bummed about that; gives it more character, right? I have an Epi acoustic that i need a case for, and I tried the local Sam Ash in Atlanta before i moved to try to get a case for it from someone that might have bought a guitar and didn't want the case....orphans. But, it's an Advanced Jumbo, so no such luck. Luckily, I had brought it into Sam Ash to send back to Epiphone for an adjustment and they had it while I moved and then they shipped it to me at my new address, so dodged a bullet there with no case.... I love Revolution!! I have Past Masters on vinyl and I always listened to that album when I was a kid and would crank Revolution....never thought i would be able to play it myself, let alone on the same ax that Lennon and the boys did.... This is too weird, Manfred - I have an Epi Advanced Jumbo as well (an AJ100), and I bought a Road Runner jumbo case for it. (The case cost more than the guitar - LOL!!!) At the time, I thought I needed a case for this guitar. If I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't have bought the nice case for this inexpensive guitar... This AJ100 isn't bad, though - I actually do like it. But some day I might get a better jumbo worthy of this case... Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.... I paid 90 bucks for the guitar (with a GC 15% off coupon), and about a hundred for the case... Ha

Johnny Seven
interesting finish on the top of that It's just a reflection of the stairway behind it. The guitar has the shiny poly finish.

I paid just a bit more for the AJ220... plus, it is an acoustic electric, so has the p/u and electronics etc.... I was going to buy a soft shell rigid case from a guy on CL before we moved from Atlanta, but never got around to it and since i had sent the guitar in to Gibson, didn't need the case when we moved.... I think it was only $50 though, so i wish i still had bought it.

I had a gut feeling there would be a logical explanation. Nice looking guitar must have a high gloss finish.

Yep, just a reflection.. Yes, this guitar has a very shiny high gloss finish. I actually sanded down the back of the neck some with a green Scotch-Brite pad to get some of the gloss off, and smooth it down a little so it would be a little smoother feel back there. That worked pretty well. I also removed the "E" from the pickguard with some Brasso.
Manfred33
Nice looking AJ220, Manfred ~ Thanks MMMAn....you too by the way. I didn't even notice the difference in the E.... gives it a neat look. So you used Brasso?

Yeah, Brasso took it right off. I also used Brasso to "clean up" the truss rod cover on my Hofner Icon bass - not trying to fool anybody, but I just wanted it to look more like the original, since it also has the white teacup knobs, and the painted white switches like the original.. (This Icon is a great bass by the way!)
