I was checking out a les paul on craigslist but had trouble with the guitarprojects Gibson serial checker. What doesnt make sense is the guy is selling a beautiful les paul that only looks like 4 years old and he claims is only a few years old yet the serial number says 1960 and so does a pickguard found on the git?? Is this a counterfeit and the seller is either a crook or does not know he was duped?

EA...this looks ok. The black pickguard, which looks to be a guard for possibly

a Studio model, could have been the previous owner's "mod" for his/her personal

preference. If you need a more accurate date, on the serial number, contact

Gibson's customer service. They can, and will, help you determine it's

authenticity.

Cheers,

CB

This is genuine. The pickguard is a replacement. The '1960' on the cream original is the model type. I'd go in and offer $1400. Grab a bargain.

Thanks, im trying to make a trade offer to him now. My gf usually hates when i buy new gear but she loves the black colour so im praying i have a shot, gonna make an offer today.
