vomer
Does anyone know the power handling capacity in Watts of the stock Valve Junior version 1/2 combo speaker? Not the later Eminence one. Thanks.

vomer
Thanks for those. I might be missing something, but I couldn't see the speaker rating in there.
corson
The usual set up is for the speaker to be capable of handling double the amp's max output.

wiggy
On the basis, based on a fairly extensive search in relation to an new project, that there are very few 10W (based on 2X the Valve Jnr's output) guitar speakers out there (new production stuff) I'd say that it is probably rated at 20W to 25W. vomer
Thanks Ian, I'd nearly forgotten about this thread. And, I remembered about hearing that the stock VJr speaker is a clone of a Weber. Watford Valves have a couple of Weber 8", both alnico and ceramic, which are rated at 15W. So it seems reasonable to assume a minimum of 10W, more likely 15W, and possibly a bit higher.
