fishman aura ellipse for sw deluxe

Recommended Posts

I am playing with the aura ellipse pickup in a songwriter deluxe custom that plays like butter. I've been trying out the different images and have found that #3 sounds great to me. Imagine my surprise to find out that image is from a sm57! Has anyone else played around with the images?

Doesn't seem all that surprising. This just indicates that an SM-57 would probably work better than any of the other mics, given the rest of your particular signal chain. Ever experimented with different mics but kept the rest of the setup the same?

I guess I was surprised that the more expensive mic images didn't sound better to my ears. Perhaps its because I am only used to playing with cheap mics. I've only played with different mics in a studio, and it always sounds different through the board.
