gotomsdos
Fuller's is a big Gibson dealer. But to my astonishment, there is no "Gibson" in "acoustic" on its website. Still no "Gibson" in detailed maker menu below. Why ?
Red 333
Gibson only allows dealers they deem able to fulfill internet orders on a large scale to advertise on the internet. They reckon Fuller's is not one of these. Red

ParlourMan
Fairly anti-competitive business model. What a poor show.
geelinus
I just visited Fuller's website yesterday and wondered the same thing. I thought that perhaps Gibson had pulled the dealership - I hope that's not true. If it isn't, why the change? -- Apparently, Gibson used to think Fuller was worthy enough to sell n the Internet. . . .
ponty
This is what Fullers have had on their website until very recently Thank you for choosing Fuller's Guitar. We are currently working with Gibson to get our Gibson inventory back online. Until then, please remember that Fuller's Guitar stocks the full line of Gibson and Epiphone electric and acoustic guitars. There a number of past threads about this. I like the line We are currently working with Gibson This has been the case for almost 4 years. It must have been hard work! I understand that Gibson denied Fullers internet advertising after Fullers had made some kind of breach in advertising. Remember Elderly Instrument? Fullers barely mention Gibson on their site today. Who can blame them. I am surprised they haven't dumped Gibson and their moronic marketing rules.
Ridgemont
Last time I was at Fullers was about a year ago. They mentioned that Gibson would not let them display inventory online. So it is the same problem that all their 5-star dealers have with Gibson.
Red 333
Fuller's is the largest Gibson Acoustic dealer in the US; I don't think they're going to stop selling Gibsons any time soon, or that Gibson will drop them as a dealer. They seem to have a solid relationship. The Gibson Acoustic and Electric trailers visit their stores each year, and are at both the big spring and fall guitar shows in Dallas to support them. If you ever get the chance to visit Fuller's, you'll see that presently they don't have the shipping or warehouse space the Gibson evidently requires of an internet dealer (their shipping area is a small, closet-sized space on the sales floor, from what I have observed). Other 5-Star dealers (Wildwood for one--great photos) are able to display their inventory and sell online. Red
vw1300
I visit Fuller's pretty frequently, and while on vacation in Boulder I went over to Wildwood. Very different stores - Fuller's has everything out for display (and not much warehouse/storage space) and Wildwood has almost nothing on display, you have to ask for what you want and they'll get it out of the inventory somewhere in the building - so I'm inclined to agree with Red's explanation. JuanCarlosVejar
Don Ruffatto recently replied to an email I sent him And he was careful to say that Fuller's does a great job for them. Fuller's has done many lefty gibson acoustics for me and I can tell you they have great service Keith Edwards from Bailey Bros in Alabama is another top notch salesman The guys at Bailey bros and Fuller's are two of the most solid gibson Acoustic dealers JC

No kidding? I've never been there. I was under the impression they had a huge showroom, though. Good to know. I was going to make a point to drive to the store next time I am in CO, but now I don't think I will. Red

GuitarLight
My local GC also wanted to carry and sell some more popular Gibson models in store rooms, like the Hummingbird and SJ-200 etc. But Gibson refused them, according to GC, because they could not afford to carry Gibsons 100% entire full line of guitars out front in the store room, even the ones that don't sell well. GC told them goodbye, and decided only to sell the GC...that was being specially made for all GC stores, the fake hummingbird (no offense) which is actually a Gibson Song Writer guitar with the Hummingbird name glued inside... I don't blame GC or any other dealer. And that of course, is my humble opinion to avert mass hysteria of the flamers. Demanding retailers to sell all or nothing of their products is the reason why so few music stores carry Gibsons. Some GC's do carry the full Gibson line if they are in cities and locations where all models sell well. Those who do a slightly less robust business can not afford to do that, and so the public is denied access to some Gibsons. My local GC has not carried a single Hummingbird, or SJ-200, and most all other Gibsons in over 10 years because of that policy. Lots of Martins, lots of Taylors and lots of others too..but very few Gibsons unless they are used. My three Gibsons were bought online. I would like on to buy a Gibson Hummingbird one day. But I will not buy it online because of previous quality issues I had with the other Gibsons I bought online. I do live in a large city with almost half a million people, and MANY music stores. Not a single one of them carry a Gibson Hummingbird in store Epi Hummingbird yes, Gibson Hummingbird, no. I've also discovered that the little lowly Epi Hummingbird I just picked up used, is a delight to play, stunning to the eye, and sounds very close indeed to my friends actual Gibson Hummingbird which he bought in New York. Maybe I lucked out with the little Epi Bird.. Even he was amazed at how close the two sound in tone. But if Gibson can not find a store to sell their various products in a city of that size, then I'm not interested in driving 200 miles to get them either. Red 333 Hi. Bailey Brothers are excellent. I bought two Carbon Graphite guitars there some years back... a Dreadnought and an JM1000 electric jumbo model. They are very reputable. GuitarLight
How do you know all this? Well, big mouth that I am, lol, I complained to my local GC about not carrying Gibsons..I blamed THEM!... In response they told me this story of being forced to carry almost all or nothing of Gibsons. So they chose nothing....as did another local smaller guitar shop who once, years ago,but no longer, DID carry the full line of Gibsons..he told me they later stopped the Gibson line for this reason. They could not afford to carry Gibsons. He was stuck with several models he could not sell in Gibsons specified time....and he said Gibson penalizes them if they do not sell them in that specified time...forcing them to put them up for sale cheaper, and lose commission on the guitars, or risk losing the Gibson line up...they told me they finally gave up. And they could no longer carry Gibsons. I was then forced to consider online Gibsons, which I don't like doing and will not likely do again. Red 333 Wildwood CO: Tiny showroom, but huge warehouse - the day I bought my Jackson Browne the salesman had me surrounded by 8 Hummingbirds as I tried to find one that tripped my trigger. I think it might be worth a visit - just bring your wishlist with you, and presto, thay make it appear.
