I listened to it and thought it was pretty good. I don't really know the original tune too well but I have definitely heard it and it seemed to me that you have gotten quite a bit of flavor out of it. There was some problem with the mics or audio levels so sometimes the guitar got a bit saturated and hard to hear but I liked what you were doing there.

A musical idol of mine, Bill Evans, was said to have preferred to practice one song for ten hours rather than ten songs in an hour, or something like that. I am like that and have a fairly limited repertoire at any one time but everything I actually play (the Eleanor Rigby thing I don't actually play, that was just some chord ideas and not attempting to do it up to tempo or all the way through) I have played a lot and have usually tried to bring out some aspect or aspects in my treatment of the piece that are different from the original. If somebody wants to hear the original then the recording is going to be better than anything I can do. I strive to explore music and in some way re-imagine or re-harmonize a piece when I do arrangements of other people's compositions. I don't know how you feel about this kind of thing. Some people like to do lots of tunes and dig less deeply. I would encourage you to take a tune like this recording and play it until it mutates into your way. So I like it and say go further into it and making it your own.

JerryK, great suggestion. Sadly, it never occurred to me that it would be more better to practice one song 10 hours than 10 songs one hour each. Thanks. Frequently the obvious isn't to me! I guess I shoot for a "C" grade on lots of songs, rather than an "A" on just a few. Must be a holdover work ethic from trying to 'master' one new song a week out of my Mel Bay for my music teacher. Or from when I worked for the Post Office one summer. Thanks Jerry !!!
