geelinus Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 My spanish is really rusty, but I think the poster lives in Barcelona and is looking for a heads-up on a J-45 in Vintage Sunburst.
Jayla Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 My Spanish is pretty rusty too, but here's what I got: "Hi, I'm looking for a Gibson J45 currently in stock in a shop in Barcelona. Specifically, I'm looking for the J45 Vintage Sunburst. If anybody here can send me a tip by mail or post it here, I'd be grateful. Cheers, Fran" Can anyone help him out?
Jerry K Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Hola Fran! No puedo ayudar. Pues, un chivatazo pequeno: hay muchos tipos de J-45, no son igual. Per exemplo, Modern Classic, True Vintage, Legend...

mooseguy Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Fran: Feliz Navidad also and if you run into GG, Judge Crater and/or Esteban- the same to them. Moose
Jayla Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Fran: Feliz Navidad also and if you run into GG' date=' Judge Crater and/or Esteban- the same to them. Moose[/quote'] Don't know about GG, Judge Crater, but I believe Esteban is American (i.e. from the U.S., as opposed to the other Americas). Am not sure that he speaks Spanish, however. Am maybe reading too much into some of the above responses, but a couple seem a tad condescending. Not sure why.
mooseguy Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Jayla Esteban studied guitar with Segovia-so he says in his commercials-If they didn't speak Spanish maybe they used sign language. Have a great Holiday Season Moose
rar Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Esteban studied guitar with Segovia-so he says in his commercials-If they didn't speak Spanish maybe they used sign language. Segovia's English was actually pretty good. Plus, Esteban's "studying" with Segovia most likely consisted of taking one of his U.S. group classes, which were taught in English. OTOH, since Esteban's idol -- Zorro, the fox so cunning and free -- spoke Spanish, it seems plausible that Esteban would have learned it. -- Bob R

And yes, indeed, happy holidays.
Jayla Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 http://forums.gibson.com/Default.aspx?g=topics&f=35 Didn't even know this existed. I wonder how many other countries there are forums for. I'm going to go check it out...
