BluesKing777
This guy has been trying to flog, and I repeat FLOG, this poor old Gibson L-0 for at least 3 years that I can remember... I think I may buy it just to put him and maybe the Gibson out of misery and out of the Ebay Gibson Acoustic Guitar section.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/c1937-Gibson-L0-acoustic-guitar-/171058332772?pt=AU_Musical_Instruments_Instruments&hash=item27d3df0464&_uhb=1 BluesKing777. BigKahune
. Hmmmm . . . . From the seller's description: "has been personalised by the original owner from Orange county California, who bought it new" . . . and then striped the original finish, and hacked the headstock and neck. Not sure about that price with the personalized headstock and neck inlays. But if it sounds like this 1937 L-0 - - yummy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctA7-mVA8oM

I am going to buy it just to see the look on my luthier's and his apprentice's face when I come walking in! (With a spray can of black paint...) BluesKing777. BluesKing777
Youse guys are too slow - it's already on it's way to 'BK777's home for old guitars' A New Very Old Guitar Day! The case can go! Hopefully the guitar can stay. BluesKing777.

BluesKing777
If it sounds even half as good as the restored black one in the clip above, it will be great. I will put it near the back fence for a few days to see if any living thing crawls out; give it a good disinfecting, and the dog will have something to growl at for a bit.....the guitar comes from a strange place in the mountains up near FB's area somewhere. livemusic
This is a really cool story, BK, I hope it works out. That other one posted sounds heavenly. Who cares what it looks like! When they're that old, it actually adds to it. Good luck!
BluesKing777
ha ha...yea i've been looking at that one for a long while too.At least you can put you BK777 logo on the headstock with impunity....I wonder if EA has done a postal vote yet? (inside election joke for aussies) Thanks. I may continue the theme with some rhinestones or..... As for voting - are we sick of all of them or what? For the interested/uninterested, we vote for the Grand Poobah of Australia tomorrow (Sat). The really good news is that regardless of who wins, once they have their hot little mitts on the honey pot, we won't see them for dust. They all must be exhausted - everywhere you look - hey there's Jack-In-The-Box! I got a guitar's worth of cash from one of them a few years back (stimulus package), but so far, zip - which means we are bust, I suppose. Back to my new purchase - now all I have to do is wait for the delivery - I hate waiting. A few weeks back, I moved 2 guitars out of my hallway and last night when I informed the Boss of my latest purchase, the only comment was: "Don't put the guitar in the hallway!" BluesKing777. BluesKing777
I'm still waiting for delivery of my little Beastie.... It's exhausting. He said it was going to be hand delivered, but he didn't tell me he was broke and going to walk the whole way with it. BluesKing777.
BluesKing777
Well, it is after hours here (7.30pm) and no show with the delivery of my guitar.... A fair bit disappointing ......... Lucky I have a few spare guitars BluesKing777.

BluesKing777
. Man, that's taking a while to get delivered. . Brutal. Hang in there. . B) . Thanks BK. 'Brutal' - ha ha. Only a guitarist waiting for a delivery can know how brutal it really is: For one, we want it! Want to play the sucker and don't want some weirdo delivery people kicking it around all weekend. Then we are sick of waiting for it. Then we get nervous about the condition it is going to be in after travel - see Ol Fred's problem. Then we get anxious about the playing condition if it survives the journey - see all the Ebay horror stories. Then we get anxious about being nervous and nervous about being anxious.............>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<????????? BluesKing777.
flatbaroque
A bloke just went past my place on the highway heading south. He was on one of those two wheel segway thingos towing a box trailer with a guitar case in it..he called out "is this the way to BK777's house?"...I answered "Yes he's expecting you only 800 k's to go!" Thanks for that, FB. The reality is worse - they have headed out in to the desert to do an "courier exchange".......WTF. I have had things on my doorstep from Stefan Grossman - New Jersey (4 days), Elderly's MI - Michigan 3 days but delayed in Customs for 3 days extra and many others. The smaller the package the quicker e.g.. strings.... Local courier service for guitars is truly abysmal - the Aust Post Office won't touch them - declared too large a parcel and they recommend getting a private courier. All will be forgiven if it arrives in one piece! BluesKing777.

flatbaroque
You must live beyond the Black Stump (I'm tryin' to learn your strine) Dave that's a nice bit of strine. But it sounds as though BK777's guitar may be out the back of Woop Woop. In some cases this is further than the Black Stump!

BluesKing777
FB, old Mate. Didya hear about the old seppo out woop woop who makes didgeridoos out of the Black Stump? capmaster
You made me search the web for the Black Stump and the Woop Woop. I have to say that there are Woop Woops in Germany, too, but there seems to be nothing like the Black Stump. However, I spent some time in Canada, and so I I may have an idea what the item Black Stump essentially means. Compared to Australia and Canada, we have some hundredfold the population density here. I think that people have used up all the Black Stumps long ago to make something else out of them, perhaps those countless Woop Woops
