DelArco
Hello from Finland! I just bought an Epi LP Custom Chrome guitar. I have been trying to search info on how many of these were actually made? Only info I found was: "As announced at the Winter NAMM Show 2005, every month (beginning in April) Epiphone will be offering a new and unique guitar in limited quantities." If anyone has some kind of good guess or solid fact, I would be most pleased to hear from you. :)
BobF_
Post the serial number and I'm sure someone can give you more info, including the year it was made. With the year and model, you should be able to search out more info.
BobF_
You can't read any more out of the serial# than when and where it was made True. As you said, there was a second run later, so the S/N would verify the year.
DelArco
Oh, I didn't know they were manufactured also after those monthly editions. I checked the serial and here's what I got: Guitar Info Your guitar was made at the Qingdao Plant (Epiphone), China July 2008 Production Number: 07380 So mine would definately not be from that "original" series. Also the volume / tone knobs are different then those seen on the links (look same as in my -95 gibson lp studio).
DelArco
1st one is correct. :)
Cougar
You can't read any more out of the serial# than when and where it was made Well, and the production number says your guitar was the nth guitar made. Did Epiphone give each model of guitar its own number series (unlike Ibanez)? In which case, you'd know a minimum number of such guitars made - in this case at least 7,380? DelArco
Guess I have to go and make a lottery ticket... Found another one of these for sale and I bought it too. According to serial number, this one dates to July 2005. Production number 1446. I'm not sure, because I just picked it up, but to my hand it feels like this one's neck could be a bit wider. Could be my imagination, but have to definitely check this out, when I get back home.
