I nearly bought one some years back, but, well, the tone didn't match the looks. I've played some type "0"'s too, and was not impressed, this one however, sounded pretty darn good!!! This 1947 L-7 is a good example, at least to my eye and ear: carved maple back, carved spruce top, maple neck, 17" body, and plenty of funk.
