ATX_Silverburst
Question to all out there that may have an answer to this: I recently purchased my 2013 LP Studio Deluxe II and was puzzled to see there were no markings on the truss rod cover. Not that I need anything there or a cover at all for that matter; I simply found it odd. Also, I noticed (fortunately for me) that there were no pickup covers. I prefer the black/cream open face humbucker's look as well as the fact they're a little hotter than the covered version. Anyone with any answers or ideas please feel free to edu-mu-kate me! Thanks from Cedar Park Austin. *2013 LP Studio Deluxe II in Silverburst, coil-splitting, 10db boost, Grovers, Trapezoid inlay* --The only LP in Austin that refuses to play an SRV lick--
capmaster
In this case I would be glad to just leave it there. I replace the engraved truss rod covers with blank ones on my Gibsons usually, with the only exception of a signature model I own.
Bender 4 Life
yeah, the "regular production" models look better with blank/historic TRCs. I firmly believe it improves the tone too..........

Eracer_Team
what it means is that when you finally make it to a Meet-n-Greet of your favourite artist you can bring them the TRC and have them sign it. its a 'cool' addition to your axe. the dog
When I bought my Sig T I also bought a blank cover. I think that big T is hideous.Ugly as sin.
capmaster
I like you already bro I think Gibson is using them more and more the blank truss rod covers. On some of the traditional lines they still name them but on the limited runs like the Custom Classic its blank. Be thankful it could have a big T Mobile on there like the Signature T does. I like blank ones to :) I did get a Les Paul Custom one for my Custom Classic. This gave me a blank one to replace my T Mobile one on my Signature T. You both nailed it man it was like my fingers were dragging on the board until I took that "T" off there. After I did that I celebrated by giving my fretboard a linseed bath too. When I bought my Sig T I also bought a blank cover. I think that big T is hideous.Ugly as sin. What an idea to engrave a Deutsche Telekom sign onto a truss rod cover Is there any relation between Gibson and T Mobile? I think T Mobile USA no longer belongs to Deutsche Telekom, but am not sure. I even wouldn't want to have that T sign on a Telecaster headstock By the way, as I am a customer of Vodafone, where can I get TRCs with a Vodafone label engraved

charlie brown
and reduces weight! Well, THAT would depend on the TRC...if it's letter, logo, or symbol is painted on, it will be heavier, than one that has it carved out, or stamped into, where material is actuall removed. CB A good move against neck diving must be leaving the TRC off, and the screws, too, of course. Sometimes I do consider that for my SG guitars and basses

capmaster
but....they wouldn't sound as good! Thanks for your comment - I will leave them on. Perhaps that's what I like the blank ones for - I think the guitars and basses sound more distinctive with 'em compared to the engraved or stamped ones, although they all look the same above the nut. Stunning!
