swampash
I sold my Gretsch Projet on Saturday night as it never got played and I didn't really bond with it. So, with the proceeds from the sale I bought this beautiful Guitar from a guy on an online trading site here in Ireland. I'd been looking for the right Tele for a while now. It's a 2006 Japanese Fender Telecaster Custom 62 Re-issue. I picked it up for €550 so I think I got a great deal. It's in a beautiful three colour sunburst with a double bound body and rosewood board. I just need to get a nice tweed case for it. :) Better pictures to follow..... surfpup
Nice one! I wish you a long and happy relationship. I love my '86 Japanese 62 reissue. I've had it longer than all but one of my current electrics...

Twang Gang
Sweet looking axe. I believe everyone needs a nice little Tele - just because.
pippy
I really do wish you good luck with it. That sounds 'wrong' somehow, I know, but just like you with your ProJet I never bonded with mine. My fault, though, I'm 100% sure. Here is a mate 'wearing' my '84 example back in about '86. I kept it less than a year. Wonderful guitar in many ways, probably, but I suspect I simply didn't know how to properly appreciate Tele's at the time... And YES, THANK YOU! I've already heard about the camel-toe. It's a trick of the light (or so my mate tells me). P.
Bender 4 Life
very sharp! I read last week that CIJ Fenders are again being sold "en masse" in the "lower 48", I think it was a Sweetwater flier where I read it. mostly Classic re-issues & such, but still...Fender Japan !! capmaster
Congrats to your great buy, very nice Telecaster. Considering my Japan made '65 Mustang Bass reissue, they make very well crafted instruments at the Fender Japan Division. I am curious how you come to terms with the three-saddle bridge. I think I would replace it with a six-saddle design using the same screw holes to achieve proper intonation.

Nice Telecaster! rct
swampash
Actually the pickups are much better than I thought they would be. I was told that the build and hardware quality on Japanese Fenders was as good as the US ones but the electronics were a little suspect. There was some scratching on the volume pot. I've left the Guitar into my tech this morning and he's going to change and upgrade the pots and capacitors, raise the neck pickup and give the Guitar a full setup. As for the pickups, they are a lot better than I thought they would be. The neck pickup needs to be raised up as it's a little low but the bridge pickup is incredible. Sparkling tone with nice fatness as well, as a good Tele bridge pickup should sound. I won't be in a hurry to change out the pickups. :) I firmly believe that the Telecaster bridge pickup is one of the best sounding pickups in the world.
