Cezar
Hi guys, I've recently bought a J45 Custom and decided to change the pickup on it. It came equipped with an LR Baggs Active Element which had a nice sound but the preamp was too weak so I decided to mount in a Fishman Ellipse Matrix. The holes were already there so I just had to do the simple switch. The preamp is great now but it came with the price of an annoying buzz. I know it's a grounding buzz because every time I touch the input it disappears. Would you guys happen to know where I should be looking for the problem? Would it be at the saddle itself or somewhere along the cables? Maybe if some of you have had the same problem before and solved it, please help a fella' in need... P.S.: The piezo element is wide format, so I chose the correct one, just to eliminate that suspicion...

Cezar
Was the fishman pup new? Yup! I've fixed it! Replaced the saddle with a cut and shaped new one. Works like a charm now!
kidblast
ok cool over time the down pressure on the element from the saddle wears some of the shielding down, there's a way to fix it, I've had one of mine repaired before. but sounds like that isn't the case here. /ray
