Favourite Beatles Song.???

I was listening to BBC radio London in the car the other night and the DJ was running a pole on listeners favourite Beatles song. The boys did many great songs, too many to name but the winner was a lesser known if not forgotten song of theirs.

Radio London is mostly talk during the day and on the subject of the city or things connected to the city, more music at night, so very much like local stations in USA.

The winner was a surprise to me and I was wondering if members might like to guess what it was?

Well - It Do(es)n't Come Easy, as Richard Starkey once sang ;)

At the moment, I am torn between Strawberry Fields Forever, I Am The Walrus, and Helterskelter, but it may change rapidly. It is some kind of a Subject To Modification [biggrin]

There simply is no right or wrong answer to this question. Most bands would kill to have but a pittance of the library these guys created. Some crap, yes, but some gems, well, to be sure.

Back on topic, I guess I'd have to opt for something "early" (as the above comment re the demographic comes in to play as well) so I'd opt for "She Loves You" although it's no where near my personal favorite.

For a Beatle fanatic like myself, nailing-down a favorite song is impossible. The only thing I can do is give each year (or era) several favorites among each of the songwriters. Not only that, but my favorites tend to fluctuate depending on mood. Sometimes, I am in the "mid-60's Revolver" era mood… other times, I am more into the "post-psychedelic/India" era… other times, it's the "latter-stage Beatlemania" era.... and so on and so forth.

One song that never seems to lose its footing, however, is Got To Get You Into My Life. That song has always been an "unsung Greatest Hit" to me.

I'm Only Sleeping is another perennial favorite.

One of those impossible questions to answer but here goes. What you doing that C63 12 string is killer on this song. I should have known better and there are many more. Take you pick

It would be practically impossible for me to pick a favourite Beatle song because they all are so special to me.Some songs though are especially special to me because I find them to be so touching,so much so that I often find it impossible to sing them because I become so choked up that it's just impossible to sing the song straight through and I end up having to just stop. Some of these songs are "This Boy","I'll Be Back","Yes It Is","In My Life","Across The Universe", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps","I Need You".The first named song especially has so much emotion and true angst in it that you can really feel that John is actually singing it straight from his heart and that's what makes it especially difficult for me to sing this song in particular.

I have often been chatting to people over the years and quite a few people feel as I do,that it's impossible to pick out just one song and a large number of these people are the diehard dedicated Beatle obsessed fanatics.I guess when you are really obsessed all songs have a special place and finding just one that tops all others is near impossible.

I would NEVER be able to pick. Just when I hear one that I might say is "the one" I hear another one and start all over. To me that says a LOT about their catalog I reckon.

Taxman is amazing, but so is... Something and so is ... A Day in the Life... and so is... She Said, She Said, and so is... She's Leaving Home, and so is...

While I may not be able to pick a song, I do tend to favor stuff from Rubber Soul and beyond obviously. Guess I am not alone there.
