flatbaroque
Lars rightfully got some points for his honest songwriting recently. I heard this one for the first time in years last night. Loudon was always a good writer when it came to himself and family and relationships.Too honest at times.

flatbaroque
Thanks EA.They are great little guitars.Record really well. Are you still doing a bit of country picking on yours? Have you ever gigged with it using a soundhole pickup? Cheers BBG I remember you being a Loudon fan from some previous posts.I read a good article on him on an online magazine called No Depression. It's an excellent emagazine if you don't know it.Free, full of good writing on roots, americana, folk music etc.
jedzep
A nice flashback for me...thanks. His first couple of albums pretty much moved my flatpicking forward. So easy but he was able to add complexity with alternate picking. Thanks to you I'll probably spend the next couple of days trying to recall all the songs of his I used to play. I still can't find album 1 anywhere, but somehow when my old school Brooklynite brother-in-law visits I can still remember how to play 'Nice Jewish Girls' for him. A nice bonus too, when he duetted with his late wife on 'Lullaby'. Turned me on to the McGarrigles. Who names his kid Loudon?

EuroAussie
Thanks EA.They are great little guitars.Record really well. Are you still doing a bit of country picking on yours? Have you ever gigged with it using a soundhole pickup? I did test it out at home FB and it sounds great on slower numbers, and anything bluesy as you can imagine, but not quite as versatile in a live setting as its bigger brothers. So probably wont be giving a run unless I become a fully fletched bluesman, which aint going to happen anytime soon with my lacking abilities .. jedzep
This was cool. I guess I should start hunting down some Louden W music. Nice delivery FB. I found his second on Amazon. Still can't locate the best one, which I feel is the first one. Album III is good too, once you get past 'Dead Skunk'.

BluesKing777
Late to the party as usual, but I have been having trouble watching videos! Yours was the first sign of trouble, actually. All problems seem to be resolved - I am going back a few while I am working and I have listened to your vid and really enjoyed it, FB! The LG2 rings out very nicely with the D chord area when you capo, so that is standard tuning plus 3 = F? For your voice? BluesKing777.
flatbaroque
BK you've dragged me out again...it's like an encore!..haha Capo on 4..Gb I guess. I'd heard the song on Pandora so I googled the chords.I think they were for open position..in D. But guitar had a capo on 4 for something else and I started playing it, liked the way the guitar sounded and didn't seem a strain on the voice.I didn't check the way he sang it as the melody was imprinted from the 1000 times I played the old vinyl years ago. The hammer on from D to 020032 is a very pleasant melacholic sound when capoed up. Cheers
