New original tune

Guth

Recommended Posts

This is a new tune that I've been working on for a while now.

This past year I've spent a fair amount of time fly fishing. More recently, the focus has been on steelhead fishing. A short while back, I finally managed to hook my first couple of steelhead. It is a pretty amazing feeling. After that experience, I finally knew what I was going to name the tune. Here it is, recorded using my 2008 J-45 TV.

Steelhead

Always enjoy and look forward to your tunes. Another very good effort I thought, didnt quite grab me as much as the other two you posted a few times (walking the dog or something similar) but a lot of quality no doubt. Hows the open mike's going, been back .. ?

Thanks all.

As with all of my tunes, this was recorded with a Sony PCM-D50 digital field recorder. Just ast ThemisSal guessed, I'm using D'Addario PB strings (mediums).

EA, I haven't been back to the open mic. Perhaps someday, but more than likely no time soon. Maybe I'll work up a new song or two and re-learn a couple of old ones before doing so again.

Didn't think you were going to say dadarrios .they'd be my usual string choice and was noticing how bright your guitar sounded. Are they fresh strings ? Loud guitar you have there

The strings have been on the guitar for a few months now, but it hasn't been played all that much during that time (been playing my AJRI a lot lately). The PCM-D50 does tend to brighten things up just a bit, but for the most part represents things pretty accurately. What's interesting is just how responsive the guitar is to variables such as the length and shape of my fingernails on my picking hand. It's definitely a bit brighter and punchier than most J45s I've managed to get my hands on. Dry and crisp — Just my cup of tea.
