ppmkly Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I'm appalled at the lack of information and minuscule delivery of official documents from Gibson concerning the Dark Fire. I bought my first Gibson (ever) last year at the release of the Robot and I have played the _ _ _ _ out of it. I gig 3-4 times a month out live and practice daily. The MCK knob stopped working 2 weeks before the warranty ran out and I quickly sent the Robot back to Nashville for repair. I received the guitar back within 2 weeks without explanation as to what was wrong and/or why it happened. Still, I put my money down and bought the new Robot anticipating a better experience and better build quality. I'm reading everyone’s posts and I'm about ready to send the DF back and sell my first Robot and go back to playing my Tom Anderson's & Fenders. I'm a professional gigging guitarist with a healthy collection of guitars and amplifiers and I have better things to do than be the guinea pig for Gibson. If this is what “The Gibson Experience” is all about, then I the made right choice by not playing Gibson’s for the first 50 years of my life. elantric Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 >The MCK knob stopped working 2 weeks before the warranty ran out Really? I recall reading my Dark Fire warranty was Lifetime. EDIT- just reread the fineprint - it only applies if I live in Iraq Though at this rate, maybe i should be looking over my shoulder ?
