recsec Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I am looking for a practice tool that will allow me to Play over tracks that I download into it, and possibly change tempo and delete individual instruments or voices, as well as provide pre recorded jam tracks, drum tracks etc. Any Suggestions?:)
recsec Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 Since I am new to all this I was looking for a specific idea of the brand or type of gear I would need. I am primarily playing blues and working on 12 and 8 bar blues songs.
Thundergod Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Hello, welcome to the forum... are you looking for something portable or it doesnt matter? Also, whats your budget? Tascam makes a trainer that kicks *** and is not very expensive, it also is portable and lets you play cds and make them run slower and lots of other stuff I cant remember right now... If you are interested I can look for it and post some info here... There is an amp version from tascam too, same thing (I guess, I havent tried the amp version) but built into an amp. Line6 has an amp like that too but I dont really trust them... Again, welcome to the forum... posting pics of your ladies (guitars) is a must!
recsec Posted December 25, 2008 Author Posted December 25, 2008 Portable, is exactly what I need. I generally practice late at night and don't want to wake the family.
KSG_Standard Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Tascam CD_GT1 MKII may be the one that Thundergod is speaking about. I have one, bought last year. It will run on batteries or AC. Has onboard effects (not great) but okay. Has some cool features, I travel with mine and use it all the time.

Vry useful tool, seems to me tascam knows a lot more of this bussiness than we think.
recsec Posted December 25, 2008 Author Posted December 25, 2008 Thanks for the help, I was looking at the Tascam GT-R1 this morning and it looks like just what I need. Or possibly the Line 6 Guitar Port XT. I hope everybody had a Great Christmas. I am listening to my Christmas Present right now The Allman Brothers live at Fillmore East:d/
