ksdaddy Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I have 55 minutes to get off my lazy butt, go down cellar and wrap the "major" presents. This year I kept my mouth shut and hid them well. I couldn't afford what I did, but to hell with it. When I'm dead and gone I don't want my kids to look back on hard times. I want them to look back and say, "Dad really spoiled us rotten even if he couldn't afford it!". Kinda like having a roomfull of Gibsons when there's a 20 year old car in the driveway and a leaky roof above us.... sound familiar to any of us? Well, describes ME anyway. Merry Christmas to all, stay sober, stay away from razors and Valium, stifle the urge to strangle passive aggressive extended family members, and make sure you double check filter the wrapping paper before taking it out to the trash lest you lose a small gift or receipt.
Thermionik Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Happy thingy right back at you and yours.
Red 333 Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Best wishes to all for a wonderful holiday, and peace and happiness in the New Year. And maybe a new Gibson, too. Red 333
jefleppard Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 i was at GC in southfield tuesday and saw the saddest thing. a j45 that had fallen off the wall mount or been dropped and was split right up the center from the bottom to the bridge. it was marked down to $1225. hmmm, 1225? dec 25th? nice merchandising. it made me feel the same way charlie brown's christmas tree does.

I know you're a great Dad and I'm sure your children are appreciative of your efforts. And if for any reason they're not, don't despair. They will appreciate it doubly when they're older and have their own kids. Everyone figures it out someday. Merry Christmas to all you guys and gals. One of my best Christmas presents was discovering this board. I haven't been around long, but what a nice community of folks who love to talk about things so near and dear to my heart. Thanks for making me feel at home. pp
davidbg63 Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Merry Christmas to all.....anyone get a new guitar for christmas? I bought my youngest a new fender strat. I know it isn't a gibson but what he wanted. Will post pics when I can pry it out of his hands.
TWilson Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Yes, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all. I'm supposed to be up in northern Washington state but the snow and ice have kept me from going. I think tomorrow is the day. Mys sister has to drive there from Montana so I don't have it quite as bad as they do. Stay safe and warm!!
