Bladen
Hello, A friend of mine brought me this amplifier that he inherited from his grandfather. What I'd like to know at this point is exactly what tubes this mysterious vintage Gibson requires, as it currently has none. Pictures attached. I appreciate your help. L5Larry
The photos are still too small for me to read any details when opened. Do you have a name and/or model number for the amp? Gibson has a very good schematics page here: http://www2.gibson.com/Support/Schematics.aspx . Also, Aspen Pittman's book, "The Tube Amp Book", has a large tube chart section. retrorod
Ditto with Larry on the small photos! A model # alone can help with a google search! I would need more info at this time to give you the tube compliment needed....Jes Sayin' !
Bladen
Oops. Sorry about the small photos, guys. Turns out it's a Gibson BR-6 from the late '40s. Tubes needed are 6SN7, 6SL7, 2x6V6 and a 5Y3. Thanks for your help. Bladen
