I have to vent

I don't even care if anyone reads this or not. I just frustrated right now and have to let it out.

I got this new digital video camera that came with editing software and I wanted to test it out. I went down in my basement and took some footage of me playing my LP thru my Vox. Well it's not a top of the line camera and the video quality is pretty poor. Plus the audio doesn't even sync well. Then I tried clipping the parts out where I was making adjustments to the amp. I finally had something that I thought was usable and finished it as an avi file. I tried to upload it to my Photobucket account. It kept telling me that I couldn't upload a Zero Byte file, which it obviously wasn't. Used the same footage but made it a wmv file but the quality now was horrendous. I started from scratch again using the same footage and actually ended up with a much better edited version with faded transitions and text to display my different amp settings etc. But just as I was about to finalize it, the program crashed and I lost it all. Then I said, what the hell I've never posted anything to Youtube, I'll go back to the first avi file and see if it will upload to youtube. Well it seemed like it was uploaded ok, but then about 45 minutes later it was still uploading! WTF? Then it finally said "there was an unknown error blah blah blah".

AAAGGGGHHHHH!

Sorry but I had to get that off my chest:-({|=

Technology - great when it works, vacuums when it doesn't.

The more complex it gets, the more there is to go wrong and the less we can do to fix it.

Call me a luddite - but no Robot guitar for me, nor Dark Fire.

I wanna play when I wanna play, not when the guitar has finished re-booting or recovering from a crash.....

You have my sympathy - several hours gone from your life, and you can't get them back, ever.

You can pick up a Robot and play it any time you want... Doesn't matter if the batteries are dead, the software doesn't work...etc. Just plug it in, disengage the tuners, tune up manually, like an yother guitar, and your rocking....

The Dark Fire I don't know if you can say that for...

Sounds like the software that came with my JVC camera.

It works when it feels like it. Takes a ton of memory just to run

so that everything else runs super slow. Just when you're about done

you get the windows message that the program had a error and must shut

down.
