D Big Daddy M
25 made but only 20 sold (5 were apparently given away). Original MSRP was $40k They were made from 1997 until 2005 .All to my knowledge have 2 labels--1 signed by the builder (James Hutchins) and the other with the serial number. Colors were natural and an orange-ish sunburst. Not clear what they called it (guessing the orange was an homage to Chet Atkins classic orange guitars and the Gibson Sunburst. That is a guess, the other info is not based on guessing) I have read online that 2 of them were built with 2 humbuckers, 23 with 1 but I cannot confirm that and have never seen a photo. I doubt that is true but it certainly could be possible. Would likely have needed additional controls unless both humbuckers were controlled by the one volume slider knob without the ability to select the pickup which would likely invalidate the need for 2. D Big Daddy M
I did a deep internet search and did indeed confirm a 2 pickup version, so I guess the internet rumor was true! The controls are dials mounted on the pickguard.https://reverb.com/item/3480823-gibson-super-4000-1998-honey-burst
