Well they finally got it right last year by letting Rush in, so I really can't complain. I'd love to see Yes get in this year. Maybe the corner is turning for progressive rock bands.

You can vote again. See here. Last year Rush was leading the pack by a wide margin. Nothing like that this year yet for anyone.

I can see why some folks think that some of the act's really aren't Rock or even Rock and Roll or any sort of influence on the music that came from or became Rock or Rock and Roll.

But they are famous and doing a lot better then me so I wish them all the fame they worked hard for. [thumbup]

I actually had to look up The Meters (never heard of them before). So what do you think?

Pity that! Let's see what we can do to remedy that situation because you can't get much funkier than the Meters...

As for the R&R Hall of Fame, like the Grammy Awards, I quit caring years ago.

Yeah I checked them out afterwards. They do sound great.

On another note, Rush said that they would love to induct Dave Grohl into the HOF one day (he inducted them). I loved his response: "I hope it takes just as long as it took Rush to get in." Class act all the way. Let's see if he gets in with Nirvana this year.

Maybe it should be the "I sold a lot of records Hall of Fame" cause it sure ain't limited to rock. Butterfield Blues Band is one of my favorites, and one of the great blues bands of all time - not Rock N Roll. Love Ronstadt too, but she is a country singer and a great one - not Rock N Roll. LL Kool, NWA, Cat Stevens well I just won't go there.

Hi I know its probably all ready been decided.

Its just a big deal for me with KISS.

I think them and many other bands sort of hurt their legacies by switching around members a lot.

Bands like Aerosmith Zeppelin Beatles just are more Legendary keeping original line ups.

Yeah I'm the same way when it comes to Chicago and their original lineup. Loved all the Jazz fusion/Rock/Pop stuff they were doing late 60s up until Terry Kath's tragic death. One hell of a guitar player, 3 great singers and the horn section.

They'll never get in though because of the 80s love song incarnation they became after Kath was gone.msp_thumbdn.gif

You mean the period when they made all the money Cookie? Pretty sure they wouldn't trade that for some dumb little statue. B)

BTW, I agree with you. The only Chicago I like is the Kath variant.

Well ZK I think they had like 5 straight #1 albums in the early 70s so they were doing alright before that.
