Yorick
You can learn a lot from Roy. His DVDs for Homespun break down some stuff that is well worth knowing. I like Roy's playing; I've seen him more than a dozen times over the years.
tpbiii
Here is a recent Book Binder live show from Randy Wood's Pinking Parlor in Savannah. Right now it's free. Soon you will be able to watch live show on line for a bit of money. Randy knows everybody in the world, and he gets amazing acts. We watched Grasstowne live on Friday -- 64" TV and theater sound made it almost better than being there. This may be the future! Bryn6490
I have a couple of Roy's lessons on VHS. I've seen him live twice. Great show.

I bought most of his dvds a few years back (probably vhs run to dvd?) - well worth having if you like blues and rag picking! BluesKing777.
rbpicker
Met Roy once. He was wandering around the showroom at Elderly looking for a guitar to use for the workshop he was doing that day. Nice guy, Roy. Rb

Yorick
Ray is right--Roy plays wonderful vintage guitars--you'll see him playing Gibson-made Recording Kings, for example. And when I've seen him, he's been miked (no pickup) and he doesn't use finger picks. He plays great, and can spin a yarn beautifully, too. So if you get a chance to see Roy, do so. And Blues by the Book has some excellent tips of the trade.
