vacamartin Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Anyone listening to these two young troubadours? Fine song, smooth voices, nice J-45 behind a Martin 0-15.
duluthdan Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Really good duo. You can download their first 2 albums for free from the site. http://www.themilkcartonkids.com
zombywoof Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I know a lot of folks who really like the Milk Carton Kids. Not my cup of tea but that is not in any meant to take way from their voices and material.
The G Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Makes me think of Simon and Garfunkel; only with Garfunkel playing a guitar as well.
MissouriPicker Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Nice, folksy sound. The guitars sound great also. A lot of the best music is very simple. Don't think I'd heard of these guys before.
Gio Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I'm a big fan. I'm giving vinyl or cd copies of their latest album "The Ash And Clay" to a lot of friends. Three songs of this album were used by Gus Van Sant for the soundtrack of "Promised Land". Actually he asked TMKC to write the songs for the movie. Great performers and songwriters.

j45nick Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Really nice sound, and two really nice old guitars. That's one sweet-looking J-45.
blindboygrunt Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I agree totally with the David Rawlings connection. Very similar approach.
