Great playing, as usual. Still wish EC's "tone" was a bit "fatter," on the

first video. I like his/that "Strat tone," on "Got To Get Better," though.

[biggrin]

Haha yeah I was kinda thinking the same thing.. And the answer is so simple, all he has to do is play a Gibson instead :P :)

(it only sounds better in the second vid cos theres no Gibson to compete with :P)

Of course he looks old... He's a cupla months older than I am.

Sheesh.

m

Well, I think he just finally decided NOT to dye his hair?!

Kinda wish McCartney would make that same decision. His hair

doesn't match the age of his face, at all, anymore. [tongue][unsure]

They've earned every gray hair they have! Nothing wrong with

that. IMHO... [biggrin]

Besides, it adds to EC's "Bluesman" credibility...as if he needed

that?! LOL

And does something tell me from this video that theres a Derek Trucks signature goldtop coming :)

That looked like Duane's '57 that Derek was playing. The current owner has been making a big deal (and rightly so) about taking it around for people to play. There has been a good bit of press about this, give it a Google.

Well... as my Mom used to say, she earned every one of her gray hairs, but she by-golly didn't deserve 'em.

My two brothers both claim I got the family's good hair genes. Meanwhile across the street from my workplace, the barbers live in constant terror over the threat of physical violence I made when they used a mirror to show me the back of my head and it's growing (or not-growing) monk-like tonsure. Okay, maybe they're not that scared. But... they did stop using that @#$%@#$ mirror.

<grin>

Too many factors play into the creases, though.

As for the dye... my Mother's dad had dark hair up until his mid 80s... @#$%@#$%

Cool, some real nice playing going on there [thumbup] ... man Eric is looking old...

Ahh yes, but you also have to account for all those years of drug and alcohol abuse

by Eric :P

It's not the years but the miles!!!

Who is the other one on stage with the strat? With the curly hair. Is that Doyle Bramhall? He looks different.

Get into bout the 7min mark on this live version, and he'll have that strat start singing you a lullaby :)

Great live album -

Yeah, I've always said, that on some of EC's songs/music, the "Strat"

is absolutely the right instrument, tone, etc. On other's though,

it's always seemed "too thin," to me, for just those particular songs.

Now, I'm quite sure, part of that, is him (now) playing songs, on his

Strat, that were originally played, and recorded with Gibson/Marshall

setups, or even Gibson/Fender (Dual Showman, twin reverb, etc.) setups.

And, maybe more to the point, that "I/We" got used to those heavier,

fatter, tones?

Maybe, it's even the 25 db "boost" circuit, that's the main culprit???

When he plays the Strat, cleaner, and "ballsier," too...I don't have much

objection. But, his "boost" circuit just leaves a lot to be desired,

overdive wise....IMHO. And, really, my opinion is all this is. Valid

or not. [tongue][biggrin] But, I love EC's playing, and his original

music, as well! Always have, always will! [thumbup][biggrin]
