the_HEWC Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 looks like a nice guitar, but I must ask whats up with the serial #? Does classic's have a diffrent numbering system?
KSG_Standard Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I can't answer you about the serial #, but the guitar looks real. If it is real, I'd pay $1500-$1800 U.S. for it (in this economy). I have 2 LP standards from 1990 and they are excellent guitars (my favorites from my meager collection). Just my opinion.

HeadCase Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 My recently acquired 1989 Historic Gold-Top LP has the same type of serial stamp. All Gold.... NICE! I'd say around $1800 - $2000 U.S., but look how clean it is... maybe more.

All original form 1990 please help me to find my max. Thanks Zeljko Just an FYI for public consumption after the fact: This is a 1990 Gibson Les Paul 1960 Classic in the rarer "All-Gold" finish. The serial # is authentic and appropriate, with the "0" signaling 1990. It is just a LP 1960 Classic with a different finish. Otherwise it came with the usual Classic features: ceramic PUs, nickel hardware, 1960 slim-taper neck, etc... I owned one back in the day, and added pickup covers, plain pickguard, and a plain truss rod cover. This was back when Classics didn't say "Classic" on the headstock decal, so it looked like a more "vintage" guitar after installing the "disguise kit"... ;>) Great axe. Sold it, shouldn't have, will buy another one someday (The Usual Syndrome). These days, selling for only a hair more than any other Classic. I'd pay $1500ish USD... but I love gold, so... Shel
