livemusic
This is a new one we recorded here in Nashville yesterday. I write/record a lot of dark songs, this is not of that ilk. A breakup song, yeah, but kind of a retro, feel good breakup song. A dance song. Guitar part will be replaced, as it was recorded using the piezo pickup on my Gibson j45. I can't stand the sound of a recorded piezo. I did it that way to prohibit mic bleed from the vocal, so I could sing and play at the same time to guide the band. Engineer could make that piezo part sound better but it doesn't matter anyway, it will be replaced, using a condensor mic. A guide vocal, it will be replaced and I'll phrase it better. I don't even like a saxophone, generally, but I think I will put some sax/horns on this. And background vocals. This hasn't been mixed, nor mastered, very unfinished. If you like it, let me know. Thanks. https://soundcloud.com/bill-pittman/without-you-rough-mix

duluthdan
Nice scratch track. I hear the sharp sound of the peizo, since you pointed it out - but not glaringly. Good song Bill, what a fun project. I like your thoughts on the sax.
