onewilyfool Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Ok....here is how I did it. I have some very pure Sandlewood Oil from India. I put a couple or drops around the sound hole on the inside of the soundhole, and left it in the case. BEAUTIFUL. No more cigarette smoke smell. AND....nice sweet sandlewood smell each time I open the case.....of course....you must like Sandlewood for this to work. I mean this gutar is 100 years old, and who knows how much smoke it has been exposed to. I know the previous owner smoked, so give it a try....I really DETEST the smell of cigarette smoke.
fp Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 A lot of people have trouble getting rid of cigarette smell on guitars and in cases. I'll have to give your remedy a try the next time I need to rid a guitar of smoke.
CAMELEYE Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Thanks for the tip, OWF. Just picked up an ol Harmony archtop and I think one of the previous owners chewed tobacco ... musta been a blues guy ; )
