Anthony! Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I was looking at guitar center's website because I plan on buying a Gibson Les Paul Studio soon and I saw this finish, but I can't figure out what it's called. Here's the link http://www.guitarcenter.com/item/expandedimage.aspx?t=4&img=Gibson/567163jpg.jpg
SkateMusicLife64 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 looks like heritage cherry sunburst to me.
harmonicchaos Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I second skate. Looks like a cherry sunburst to me. That's the Gibson Les Paul Studio faded w/ a maple cap. (???)
kursal Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Just been looking at the Gibson website. Does the Studio only come in two finishes now? Really like the finish on that guitar though.
Anthony! Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 Is Heritage Cherry Sunburst the same as Heritage Cherry? Because the Heritage Cherry picture looks a lot different than the one in the first picture Heritage Cherry: http://www.guitarcenter.com/item/expandedimage.aspx?t=4&img=Gibson/230091jpg.jpg
SkateMusicLife64 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 no it is just different lighting/angle
kursal Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 See, to me it looks much closer to this: http://www.dawsons.co.uk/acatalog/00061772.jpg which is a Classic in Honeyburst, so you might want to be looking for something like that?
SkateMusicLife64 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I don't think so, the edges on the honeyburst aren't as red as the picture Anthony posted.
kursal Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I don't think so' date=' the edges on the honeyburst aren't as red as the picture Anthony posted.[/quote'] Oh, I'm not saying it's the same finish but if he's looking for a finish which is close to what he posted then that was the closest that I could find, that's all.
Bluedog Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 What Skate said. I just received mine a few days ago. Action is kinda high and I stink its got 10's on it. Great setup for slide tho.. Enjoy.
kursal Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 oh ok. my bad. Don't worry about it. For what it's worth I think you're right about the angle/lighting.
Bluedog Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Well here's the one I just got and its color on the box is; Heritage Cherry Sunburst. Oh, when I ordered mine I didn't specify any color. That's just what they sent. I'm a happy camper..
kursal Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 You see the problem with that picture is NOW I WANT ONE!!!
Bluedog Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 k, Well I accidentally posted this pic first. I frantically edited the post as fast as I could Ha!. Bet you could do with one of these to huh?
kursal Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Haha, I'm not sure the GF would be very happy if I brought one of those home, she's not too happy about all the guitars ;-)
Bluedog Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 k, Well maybe your a better man then me per someone telling you what you can and can't do. It's a sign..been there done!! that.
MReynolds Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Oh' date=' I'm not saying it's the same finish but if he's looking for a finish which is close to what he posted then that was the closest that I could find, that's all. [/quote'] Ok..first off the Studio never came in Honeyburst. The one color that it did come in that I can't find the Studio in is Fireburst. I believe that's what this is. Don't think it's the Heritage Cherry since the one posted in the picture above has a black pickguard and black knobs...they would be the same...they aren't in the GC picture...the knobs are gold and the pickguard is cream.
kursal Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Ok..first off the Studio never came in Honeyburst. The one color that it did come in that I can't find the Studio in is Fireburst. Don't think it's the Heritage Cherry since the one posted in the picture above has a black pickguard and black knobs...they would be the same...they aren't in the GC picture...the knobs are gold and the pickguard is cream. Like I said before. I'm not saying it's the same guitar' date=' just the closest finish I could find to the original pic. Here's the studio in fireburst: [img']http://www.reverb-store.co.uk/images/large/Gibson%20LP%20Studio%20FB2.jpg[/img] Two different pics there to take in to account lighting differences. The Fireburst does seam to fade to black (even in the top picture) instead of that nice red from the original pic. That's why I thought the Classic in Honeyburst might be closer to what he actually wants, colour wise.
LM-LP Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 yea it looks alot like my classic and its heri. cherry sb so its probably the same and ive never ever seen a sb studio! all the studios iv'e seen were solid colors:-k
Anthony! Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 The one I posted does look nice, but I don't think there's one that really looks like that... It's probably over-glorified by lighting/angle. I think I'll get the ebony chrome. What do you think is the best looking LP Studio?
vertigoPT Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Ok..first off the Studio never came in Honeyburst. The one color that it did come in that I can't find the Studio in is Fireburst. Actually there are two Heritage Cherry Sunburst Studio models. One is faded and the other is glossy. I think you can only find the glossy ones in Guitar Center. The other one is a little bit easier to buy. At least I bought one in Portugal a couple of months ago.
Boston004681 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Looks like a Heritage Cherry Sunburst to me, but you can never tell. They're all different.
