Which Casino color

I know this is up to me, but I thought we could have some fun with this....

I have a Epi Lucille and a 'trans brown' Korean Dot Deluxe. I want to add a Casino to the family. I am leaning toward a Cherry Casino, but I can get a beautiful burst. How about you post your opinion on your favourite color and post pics as well??

Help me and have fun... we all win! :)

I was looking for a Casino a couple of years ago. I buy guitars based on how they play and sound, not color, but I was hoping for a good burst (like McCartney's) or natural (like Lennon's). Red was my last choice, I always thought the red 335 type bodies look like tomatoes. But after playing a few uninspiring bursts, I saw a Cherry Casino hanging on the wall that had a beautiful wood grain showing through, it almost glowed. I picked it up and the the first chord sounded like angelic chimes and the neck played great. I took "Ruby" home that day and we have been together ever since.

I am totally biased towards sunburst finishes when it comes to guitars like the Casino.

Considering the Casino was not originally offered in "natural"—not being a popular finish on the guitar until John Lennon stripped the sunburst finish off of his—I'd say that sunburst is was quintessential finish for the Casino. There's a reason why Epiphone recently reissued the 1961 Casino in two "burst" finishes.

I've owned two in my day… an original 1961 (with the "Mickey Mouse ears" cut-aways) in what was probably called, "Royal Tan" or "Sunburst". Sold that one.

Today, I own a 2003-2004(?) Elitist '65 in Vintage Sunburst.

When I was shopping for my Casino, I opted for the burst, even though that's probably my least favorite finish color, but with this guitar, it just seemed right. Add the Bigsby, and voila:

Same here. I don't dig burst finishes, but on a Casino it is "the most right."

I have two Casinos and the burst and natural just seem so nice on these guitars.
