Gibson RD Custom acting up

I'm hoping there may be a few RD guys out there who could help. My Custom is acting up. When inserting the cable into the jack, I have to at times manipulate the cord end until it works. I previously had a new jack put in, but I play it very little, so I did not notice the problem. In addition, I'm getting alot of radio noise through the guitar to the amp. This tends to dissipate if I hold the end of the cord. I'm thinking it may be a grounding issue. I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this problem. Also, is there a special output jack for the RD? (Also,Moog electronics intact and battery is fresh).

Thanks!

I did try a couple of cords and got the same results. I'll try to pull the jack out and plug it in from behind. I suspect that they may have used the wrong jack- maybe a stereo jack. I think your idea should show if that's the case. Thanks for the suggestion!
