Madguitarist78 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Hey guys, assuming that I win the lottery or jepordy, jk. Wich would be better: A 1957 Les Paul Custom with 3 pups and a bigsby A 1957 Les Paul Goldtop A 1959 Les Paul Standard In Faded Tobbacco
RichCI Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 At the risk of sounding like a smartass... The one you like best.
Thermionik Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Better for what, better in what way..... For example: Best in terms of Tobacco color..... 1959 Les Paul Standard In Faded Tobbacco Best in terms of having a Bigsby..... 1957 Les Paul Custom 3 pup with Bigsby Can you see where this is going yet ? Perhaps you could help me here, Madguitarist78: I want to purchase a length of baling twine. Should I buy the 24", the 24.75" or the 25.5". And should I buy it in red, green or blue..... Come on man - at least give us a hint as to what you want it for, music style, sound like or something.

Madguitarist78 Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 I understand that my question is SLIGHTLY MUDDY, But What I mean is that I already have a standard and i think the custom with a Bigsby wold be good for different songs and I would have a better variaty of guitars, and I like the classic look of a Goldtop, But would a R9 be a better investment to roll out that little bit of extra cash for a guitar that will hold it value better and assuming that i could find a good flame top, How much would the value increase since nowadays Gibson is doing some funky stuff to their guitars and I really dont want to buy a R9 in three years when it has a freakin laptop in it that has 3,000,000 Tuings and sound capabilties ,,, thats all...
Slogold Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 It would be better to go back to school and learn how to spell (JK).

It's a 1959 Reissue. And it's from the VOS series. Which means that it replicates the original 1959 LPs to the tiniest detail... and last time I checked, original 59 Pauls didn't have built-in laptops.
SRV-Zeppelin Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 As to your original question... I don't care. As long as you're happy with it and have tried out all 3 models before buying.
stevie777 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 try them all see what plays best, no 2 Gibsons are the same in my experience.
