SkateMusicLife64 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I have minor buzzing on the E and A strings. Everything else is fine, and I don't want to spend the money on a whole setup. How should I get rid of this minor buzzing?
surfpup Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 The cheap solution: raise that side of the bridge until the buzzing stops.
Mark Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 When was the last time you changed the strings? Has it ever been setup?
SRV-Zeppelin Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I agree with Mark. Before you try raising the bridge, change the strings, set the intonation, and make sure that the tension is evenly distributed throughout the neck. After that you can try raising the bridge.
stevie777 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 £35 to £40 aint much to pay for a set up on a guitar of gibson quality dude...
SkateMusicLife64 Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 The strings are new, and stevie777, it's such minor buzzing that I'm sure all I'd need to do is fiddle with one or two screws. Not worth 40 bucks.
Bluemoon Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Did you have a significant weather changes recently in your part of the world?
BlackHawk233 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Hmm..Implying on Bluemoon's post...Seattle had a pretty huge freeze lately... During that time my tuning was nuts, and I was like .... Then it warmed up and everything happened over again.... Now its getting cold again (lol)... Sometimes its just climate.
Flight959 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 If your action is on the deck then you will get slight buzz... My Gibbys change with the weather! Pain in the ***! Flight959
Bram Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I don't care for minor buzzing on Les Pauls, cause it really doesn't effect the plugged-in tone. As long as the guitar stays in tune with good intonation, then you have no reasons to worry about it.
