Some dealers special order hard/impossible-to-find finishes as short-run exclusives (it's cheaper than ordering just one in say, Pelham Blue or REAL CHERRY RED...lol). The "Korina" label may or may not be 100% true, but a lot of guitars (including Korina-model Gibsons) aren't "true Korina" anyway. Not that it really matters, since those guitars on the Wildwood site are solid-finishes and Korina's only real distinction from a good piece of solid mahogany anyhow is its appearance. Tone-wise you're not going to be able to tell any significant difference.

I actually like the black one they have...and I wonder if they'd do a non-aged Pelham Blue one with Vibrola...I've always liked PB on SG's. The black one would make me feel like Angus with his refinished original '61/'62 that he uses live though, so I'd give that one a second look. :) The green ones are definitely an interesting piece that I'm sure would be a cool thing to have if that's a color you like enough.

I think Korina sounds different. It has a nice snap to it, more mids than mahogany. The analogy I use is korina is to mahogany what swamp ash is to alder.

Hey watk7881. Did you purchase that guitar, it's gone. I'm going there on Monday to look at the other SG Korina. I have purchased about 12 guitars and 8 amps from Wildwood, they r the best.

take care.
