AXE, I've pictured you more like a panda bear...you know...cute and cuddley looking...just don't stick your hand in the cage...

I graduated from N.C. Wesleyen in Rocky Mount, worked for Sprint and my daughter was born there...N.C. is a great state...what part of the state are you in?

My family vacations in SC every year and since were on the South/North thing I've spent most of my formative years in the South. Most of my Navy days were in Norfolk. Then Florida and Texas. Although Never really thought of TX as being in the South. More the West I'd say.

I have family in Sylva, NC. My parents and grandparents both have property in Burnsville, NC (near Asheville) so I might end up there one day. Spent many summers up there as a kid.

Is Maryland considered North or South East? I know, mid-east (not Middle East!)

Been to Charlotte N.C. many times. Nice city. Myrtle Beach S.C. rocks too.

I'm from New Jersey. State slogan: "Welcome to New Jersey. Now get the f^#& out."

Ours is a little less subtle. We encourage visitors to enjoy their visit.

Myrtle Beach is the coolest beach town I've ever been to.

Do we get any points for being in a state that borders the Carolinas?

North Kakalaky here. Chapel Hill. Home to some of the snobbiest people I've ever met, and some of the nicest.

I'm a displaced Texan actually.

it would have been funnier if grandma was flippin the bird

Agreed! I should have looked a little longer. The sentiment still prevails among a certain portion of the populace...very "anti-newcomers", 'specially them damn Californyans! :D I got the same way myself a few years after I moved here from SF. :D

I'm in Charlotte and I think we have the distinct recognition of having the first murder of the new year (unofficial yet). Way to go Charlotte!! Other than the queen city it's quite nice here. I've swam in the ocean in the morning and been hiking in the mountains by the evening.

I have family in Sylva' date=' NC. [/quote']

My mom's family is from Sylva. I'm up that way a couple times a year.
