Cruznolfart Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I stopped in Carolina when I got outta the Army. Started my fambly there. Both my Sons are Tarheels, even though they left when they were very young. Born in Rowan Hospital in Salisbury.
Homz Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 My family vacations in SC every year and since were on the South/North thing I've spent most of my formative years in the South. Most of my Navy days were in Norfolk. Then Florida and Texas. Although Never really thought of TX as being in the South. More the West I'd say.
surfpup Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I have family in Sylva, NC. My parents and grandparents both have property in Burnsville, NC (near Asheville) so I might end up there one day. Spent many summers up there as a kid.
RichCI Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I'm from New Jersey. State slogan: "Welcome to New Jersey. Now get the f^#& out."
surfpup Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Funny! Ours is "Welcome to Florida. Spend your money and then get the f**k out!"
saturn Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Is Maryland considered North or South East? I know, mid-east (not Middle East!) Been to Charlotte N.C. many times. Nice city. Myrtle Beach S.C. rocks too.
Cruznolfart Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I'm from New Jersey. State slogan: "Welcome to New Jersey. Now get the f^#& out." Ours is a little less subtle. We encourage visitors to enjoy their visit.
ChanMan Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Myrtle Beach is the coolest beach town I've ever been to. Do we get any points for being in a state that borders the Carolinas?
Dynadude Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 North Kakalaky here. Chapel Hill. Home to some of the snobbiest people I've ever met, and some of the nicest. I'm a displaced Texan actually.
djroge1 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Been there for vacation - we visited a bunch of Nascar race teams - Hendricks, Earnhardt, Gibbs, Petty and others.
Silverbursted Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Three tours at Fortress Bragg (11 years total), graduate of NC State.
myspace.com/jessenoah Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Ours is a little less subtle. We encourage visitors to enjoy their visit. it would have been funnier if grandma was flippin the bird
Cruznolfart Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 it would have been funnier if grandma was flippin the bird Agreed! I should have looked a little longer. The sentiment still prevails among a certain portion of the populace...very "anti-newcomers", 'specially them damn Californyans! :D I got the same way myself a few years after I moved here from SF. :D
