Honeyburst

Do I read Seymour Duncan on your Classic? [scared][-X

[biggrin]

All kidding aside, I guess that won't hurt the wonderful graining of the top ;)

Haha, yeah, I somehow managed to kill the stock bridge. It's a Seymour Duncan Custom V. I was fine with stock, but hey, it quit. The neck is stock. Both pups were blacktops (or I should say all three-- both the originals and the Duncan) but I put some Bobbin Toppers on for a more zebratastic look. Neat little product, cheap vinyl cling that changes the look of the pickups and is completely reversible.

Anyhow, it's the onliest pickup I can recall ever killing, although I can be pretty hard on guitars. [wink]

2 thumbs up for Honeyburst. I don't know how old the honey burst thing is, but I love it. Out of all the 2014 line, where ever Honeyburst is offered....it is the best looking one. My friend has a studio from a few years ago in a matte honeyburst and it is amazing. If I was getting another LP anytime soon, I would make sure it was a Honeyburst. Could I possibly say Honeyburst, too many times in one thread? Honeyburst!!!

You are so very right; I tried a 2014 Traditional and it was one of the most gorgeous instruments I've played.

It's an absolute beast; fatneck and weighs full-Les Paul. The Honeyburst finish with the natural back was a very attractive combination.

I'm awfully tempted to get either one of those or a 2003-ish Classic; I must have a Honeyburst!

Sorry for obviously missing your impressive post for so long [blush]

How exactly did you kill the pickup, if I may ask?

I have no idea, to be honest. It just stopped working properly. I had a longtime friend and former bandmate who worked as a luthier at our local shop, and he replaced it for me.
