Fullmental Alpinist
Buc, Glad to see the facelift worked! Sorry about the head cold though. You've got me looking forward to Sundays now. Love the music. (So much so I've been checking out the ukes online. Haven't a clue about what to buy so would a new Martin Tenor mahogany be a safe bet?) Thanks for the laugh, FMA
flatbaroque
Scary but fun! Not sure if it's a mexican day o' the dead man or a Japanese kabuki actor plays Fats Waller.Good whatever it was! I just broke my fat G string on my uke (too much guitar type hammering on)..unlike guitar strings no replacement readily handy..i'll have to put in an order. Buc McMaster
The mask is something the wife bought at a Cirque du Soleil show we went to some time ago.........pretty goofy, huh. FMA: I'm sure a Martin tenor would be a fine choice if you're looking to buy one. Mahogany is less expensive than koa and makes for a great tone; the little Gibson is mahogany. And I've hired a lawyer to go after the facelift surgeon - I wanted much higher cheek bones! Thanks for listening, folks! I enjoy playing the fool almost most as much as I do playing the ukulele! E-minor7
Apropos masks - went to a dinner Saturday evening, only me and a girlfriend. After midnite I let my face sink straight down in the vanilla-cream-pudding. You folks should have seen the girl when I rose back up. . .
Dave F
Another good one, but did that mask force you to play right handed?
Joe M
Very nice, as all your songs are. Noticed that your Martin was missing from your gear list, don't tell me you've given up the guitar altogether for the uke????
Buc McMaster
Funny thing...........the mask goes on and everything flips over! Suddenly I'm righthanded......go figure.... And yes, Joe, I no longer own a 6-string guitar of any description. Call it the change of life.
Fullmental Alpinist
Buc, Okay, I have another musical challenge for you, if you're up to it. What does blues sound like on a ukulele? You can choose any song you want. It just has to be bluesy. As usual, Mr. Phelps, if your mission fails the embassy will disavow any knowledge of your activites. Good luck. Buc McMaster
Well I can try.......... Chapin's Smile sounds like a cool tune to do. As for the blues number, a fedora indeed.....with Ray Bans. Would blackface be too much?
