IBJL Casino neck dive?

Recommended Posts

just got my Lennon casino and it's great, but very noticeable neck dive. I wonder if the gold Grover tuners throw off the balance.

anybody else have casino neck dive issues?

I was planning on using a Souldier rooftop strap, but I guess I will have to use a leather strap instead.

I don't think exchanging it will solve the problem. The light body is probably the main contributor, though I haven't noticed much neck dive on any Casino I've played. Have you tried a wider and/or suede strap?

Yeah, kind of what I figured. It doesn't feel neck heavy, but it just slides down with a vinyl strap. I'm gonna go with a leather Levi's one instead.

Any less drastic suggestions?

It's just a peice of angle aluminum I cut, drilled and polished, Put a felt pad on the inside and screwed it on in place of the strap button. It could be put back to original in about two minutes.

But if that still seems "drastic", Yea, a leather strap is a good idea anyway.

+1. I use Levy's 2-1/2" suede straps on all my guitars, Casino included, and have no slipping issues at all.
